Since 1976, February has been set aside as Black History Month in America. This is a great time to pick up a book about the life, history, struggles and triumphs of Black Americans.

We have probably all read books about Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and Ruby Bridges. And while I truly admire the great strides and differences these people made, there is so much more to Black History Month.

One of the best ways to understand Black History beyond history class, is to go out and find books to read on your own. We'll get you started with a list of books we at Tower of Books have read and loved. These books will help change you through inspiring, heart wrenching, and eye opening stories.
